I actually lost money by following advice from (a man at) my bank, and started winning again by following my husband's advice. . . go figure. I admit to being somewhat intimidated by the whole investment process. I wish I wasn't! I have discussed with a financial planner and made the first step towards planing, but know I need to take more concrete action. A commitment I will make here and now to do in the next 3 months. :) I am sad to report I am one of the 82% without a financial plan. We also have joint bank acct's together. We make all our financial decisions together. I have read the book by Sherry Cooper, "The New Retirement", and found it very informative,(right up there with Gorden Pape). I also find Patricia Lovett-Reid very interesting to listen and have got some useful tips by watching her videos on BNN. So yes women play a large role in todays financial world, and in our house as well. I have RRSP’s in my name and my wife has some in her name as well. We also have joint bank acct’s together. In fact the CEO of Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union is a woman and it's one of the largest on the East Coast!
